The Caredara™ Companion Program invites students across Ontario to join a Care Ready Network that helps seniors stay connected, supported, and safe at home.

As a Companion, you’ll provide non-medical support and companionship while building meaningful experience that strengthens your resume and gives back to your community.

What is the Caredara™ Companion Program?

A Care Ready Network for Students

The Caredara™ Companion Program connects seniors with trusted students who are ready to provide companionship and practical support when needed.

Students join the Caredara™ Care Ready Network, meaning you may not be scheduled every day, but when a need arises in your community, you can be activated to help.

This model allows students to:

  • Gain hands-on experience supporting seniors
  • Contribute to community wellbeing
  • Build valuable interpersonal and caregiving skills
  • Add meaningful experience to their resume and professional development

Whether you are studying health sciences, social work, psychology, nursing, education, or any other field, the experience of supporting seniors can be incredibly rewarding.

Who Can Apply

Eligibility Requirements

To join the Caredara™ Companion Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university in Ontario
  • Provide valid Student ID
  • Submit a current resume
  • Provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Indicate availability for potential activations

Companions join Caredara™ as independent contractors.

How the Program Works

Students who apply will go through a short onboarding process to ensure safety and readiness.

    • Orientation training
    • Safety and professionalism guidelines

    Once approved, you will become part of the Caredara™ Companion Network and may be activated when support is needed in your area.
